Mamatoto’s outcomes for 2020

What a year! COVID BABIES!

No support allowed in hospitals unless Covid numbers in the State of Victoria had been 0 for weeks!

Virtual support for our hospital clients and homebirth transfer clients;

What an extreme year, however there were some amazing positives!

Very high VBAC success rates in 2020…89% of clients who planned VBAC achieved a VBAC, which was 8 out of 9 clients…Two of these clients achieved VBA2C. Both were hospital births.

63 Mamatoto clients in 2020

37 women who have had a baby before, 26 first time Mothers

13 First time Mothers planned a homebirth of which 6 were transferred into hospital (some of these woman had risk factors but wanted to plan homebirth)

28 women who have had a baby before planned a homebirth of which 4 were transferred into hospital (Some of these woman had risk factors but wanted to plan homebirth).

90% of all Mamatoto’s clients had vaginal births. 15% of these clients had an assisted vaginal birth with a ventouse or forceps. We believe if we could have been in hospitals with our clients the assisted vaginal birth rate might of been lower.

6.3% of Mamatoto’s clients had unplanned LUSCS, and X1 had had a previous Caesarean already

3.7% of Mamatoto’s clients had a planned Caesarean birth. These two clients decided to elect to have LUSCS instead of a VBAC without any labour
